Food Packaging

Kids Against Hunger packages and ships highly nutritious, life-saving meals to starving and malnourished children in developing countries and in disaster situations, as well as feeding hungry children in the United States.

This is accomplished by mobilizing the compassion and energy of American children, teens, and adults on behalf of needy children around the world.  We seek to end the literal hunger of deprived childen who receive the food, but this program also satisfies a hunger we all feel - a hunger for meaning and contribution.

Much has been accomplished in the Tulsa, Ok area, with youth in middle and high schools.  Students at Hamilton Middle School in Tulsa were our "flagship school," packaging 100,000 meals during the 2007-2008 school year.  The photo at the right shows students in Hamilton's Vo-Tech class packaging during school.

Key Clubs at many schools in this area have also become involved with packaging the Kids Against Hunger food as a service project.

Mrs. Bowman writes, "Since our involvement with your program over the last year, our scholars have developed a compassionate sense of responsibility to help others that are less fortunate.  Our scholars have been affected in many wonderful ways such as understanding that they have the power to make a difference in the lives of others."
